CleverLink Connect 700 in 70 Small Business EXPO ‘WIN’s!
The Cleverlink Connect team is delighted to let you know that the Small Business EXPO, which took place on 3rd March at Wollongong Golf Club, was a great success for both attendees and exhibitors. It proved to create fantastic opportunities for businesses to showcase their products or services and to network and learn all under one roof!
The action packed day began with people browsing the EXPO stands and meeting the exhibitors – and ended being broadcast on our own WIN news!
The 24 EXHIBITORS were a perfect example of the kind of successful and energetic businesses that can be found all over the Illawarra; entrepreneurs who are proactive about growing their operations and a vibrant example of the great products and services that the Illawarra has to offer.
Greg Ellis of the Illawarra Mercury kept the day moving and made everyone feel very welcome. He even gave out a few Lucky Door prizes, kindly donated by the very generous exhibitors.
The first business seminar was given by Camtu Pham, in which she shared her personal experiences as an entrepreneur and gave the audience 10 ideas to attract more clients and 5 ways to get more referrals using the Internet.
More networking followed before Keynote speaker Max Hitchins, otherwise known as ‘the Hospitality Doctor’, took to the stage. He enlightened with a very entertaining presentation entitled “The Boomerang Principle’, which included much joking and audience participation, but more importantly explained the principles needed to succeed in business. He emphasised that entrepreneurs need to accept and embrace technological advancements and learn to use them to their advantage.
Lunch followed, during which attendees were able to network and browse the stands.
The business mentoring session allowed participants and attendees to talk to a panel of e-business experts about the particular concerns, ideas and queries.
The event was rounded off by the final Prize draw which included awarding the final lucky door prizes for the day and revealing the winner of the Star Prize donated by CleverLink
The Star Prize of a $5,000 Web site makeover went to Gail Chessell of Shellharbour B&B. The second CleverLink Prize, of web and email hosting, went to Colleen Maguire of Kiama Wellbeing
Congratulations to you both and all the prize winners as well as a great big thank you to those who donated prizes.
CleverLink extends a special thank you also to Wollongong Golf Club and their friendly team for letting us use their great venue – the food was excellent as usual.
The event really was a great opportunity to learn, network and make connections that will help you grow your business. Most of all, I feel the most important message was received loud and clear. That internet technology has changed the tools but not the rules! Online is the way.
Best regards,
